The Drinks Lab has launched an experimental spirit collection, with the first spirit being called “Strange Bedfellows”.
This spirit combines two different spirits, a bespoke dark Rum and a single cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
The distillers developed eighteen different Rums to match with the whisky, eventually selecting a dark ruby Rum with a base of Raspberries and Cinnamon. The undisclosed Single Malt Scotch Whisky used was light and creamy with notes of orange zest and fudge and was born in the Scottish Highlands.
The combination of the sweet and fruity notes of rum with the smoky, earthy flavours of whisky creates a complex and flavourful drink. The blend can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or as a base for cocktails.
While mixer choices vary depending on personal taste, the result is always a delightful and balanced drink that is perfect for any occasion.
